Literary Studies - Literary Theory
Stephen is currently exploring the emergent philosophy of transcendental materialism, and assessing its relevance to ecohumanities, and the analysis of literary and popular texts. He is also studying Lacanian psychoanalysis in order to better understand the social construction of subjectivity and the cultural unconscious (ideology). His PhD explored texts and events at the intersection of rock music and film and continues to research in this area.
