About Me

I welcome enquiries from postgraduate students interested in pursuing Research Higher Degree studies across a broad range of fields: literature, creative writing (theory and practice), cultural studies, Gothic studies, theatre history, performance, and education and identity, girlhood, among other topical interests.

Since completing my Doctorate through the School of English and European Languages and Literatures, UTAS, in 2005, I have held academic positions at Charles Sturt University, Wagga Wagga, the University of Tasmania and University of Southern Queensland, as well as teaching positions at Stratford College, (Stratford-upon-Avon, UK) and the Guilin Institute of Technology, (Guilin, Guangxi, People’s Republic of China).

Until August 2012, I held the position of Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Arts, Law and Education, University of the South Pacific, Suva, Fiji Islands. Before my appointment with CQUniversity, I held the position of Program Director Master of Teaching / Lecturer in English and Arts Education at the University of South Australia.

Background

Nicole Anae graduated from Charles Sturt University with a B.Ed and Dip.T before earning her PhD through the Faculty of English, Journalism and European Languages at the University of Tasmania with a dissertation titled 'A Crowned and Selected Band of Women: Tasmanian Actress/celebrities of the Nineteenth Century & "Home grown" Identity' under the supervision of Dr. Rose Gaby. She undertook part of her research at the Shakespeare Institute, Stratford-upon-Avon for which she also received an Alumni Scholarship from the University of Birmingham.
