About Me

Dr Roksana Jahan Tumpa is a Lecturer in Project Management in the School of Engineering and Technology at CQUniversity Australia. She is an educator and researcher whose work focuses on project governance, sustainability in construction and infrastructure projects, higher education, and the retention of women in the construction industry.

Dr Roksana joined CQUniversity in 2017 as a sessional academic and transitioned to a full-time academic position in 2023. In her current role, she is involved in lecturing, tutoring, and coordinating project management courses while contributing to research and industry engagement.

She actively contributes to the international academic community through several editorial and professional roles. Dr Roksana serves as Deputy Editor for the International Journal of Sustainability in Higher Education, Associate Editor for the Journal of Engineering, Design and Technology, and Editorial Board Member for Discover Education. She is also a Fellow of IPMA-Australia and serves as a Scheme Committee Member of the IPMA-Australia Certification Body. She also serves as the Chair for Emerging Project Professionals at IPMA-Australia.

Dr Roksana has received numerous awards recognising her academic and research excellence, including the Research Training Program (RTP) Stipend Award, the Walt Lipke Project Governance and Control Excellence Award, the Student Voice Commendation Award, Best Paper Awards, the Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Winner Award, the People’s Choice Award, and multiple Best Presentation Awards. She was also a Finalist in the IPMA Global Award, acknowledging her contributions to project management research and practice.

Her research collaborations span national and international partners and focus on advancing sustainable infrastructure delivery, digital governance in projects, and diversity in construction. Dr Roksana has recently secured several internal and external competitive research grants and has been invited as a keynote speaker at national and international forums to share her expertise on sustainability, diversity, and the future of project management and higher education.
