I hold a PhD from the University of New South Wales and a Bachelor’s degree from Monash University, both in Computer Science. I’ve worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher and Senior Research Fellow at the University of Sydney, Smart Internet Technology Cooperative Research Centre, and the University of New South Wales. I have collaborated with researchers from major industrial R&D labs, including TCS, IBM, and Qualcomm, as well as international academics from top institutions. I’m an Area Editor for Elsevier Ad Hoc Networks, have guest-edited for IEEE Communications Magazine, IEEE Network, Ad Hoc Networks, Drones, and published in Q1 journals like IEEE Journal of Selected Areas in Communications and IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing. I co-invented a US patent (pending) cited by Facebook/Meta patents. I’ve received the Dean's Award for Research Excellence, Vice-Chancellor’s award for Exemplary Practice in Learning & Teaching, and Student Voice Commendations.
My research focuses on UAV-assisted wireless networks and IoT, and I lead a funded project on drone and AI-assisted targeted weed management. I supervise RHD students in advanced technologies, including IoT, UAV networks and applications, and AI, guiding them in innovative research that explores the potential of these technologies in real-world applications. At CQUniversity, I serve as the College of ICT discipline leader for ICT foundation units and am a member of both the Academic Board and Curriculum Committee. I am a Senior Member of IEEE, a Certified Professional and Member of ACS (MACS CP), and an International Professional Practice Partnership Practitioner (IP3P). I have served on over 30 international conference Technical Program Committees, including IEEE LCN, IEEE PIMRC, and IEEE ICC, and co-chaired N2Women at IEEE WoWMoM 2024 and the Women in Technology workshop at IEEE ITNAC 2020. I am also the lead chair of DroneSense-AI workshops.
