About Me

I joined in Central Queensland University (CQU) in Nov 2023 as Professor of Information Technology in School of Engineering and Technology. 

With main research interests in parallel and distributed computing, network optimization, privacy and security, data mining and machine leaning, I have received over $20m research funding, led 8 projects supported by major national competitive grants and numerous other projects in Australia, Japan and China. I have published more than 500 research papers including over 200 papers in a variety of IEEE/ACM transactions and other major international journals. With 7100+ citations (google scholar), I have an H-index 40+ and i10-index 180+ in the hardcore fields of systems and algorithms (parallel and distributed computing).

Background

I received my BSc (Hons) degree from Beijing University of Science and Technology, MSc degree from University of Science and Technology of China, PhLic and PhD degrees from Abo Akademi University, Finland.

Prior to joining in CQU, I held professorial appointments including Professor under the title of “China National Endowed Expert” in Sun Yat-sen University (#89 ARWU21), Professor of Computer Science in University of Adelaide, Australia, Professor and Head of Computer Networks Laboratory in Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (Japanese  graduate-program only national university).
