About Me
Jay Ananda is a Senior Lecturer in Economics at Central Queensland University’s Melbourne International Campus. He has over 15 years of experience in teaching and research. Prior to joining CQU, he worked as a Senior Lecturer at the School of Economics and Centre for Water Management and Policy of La Trobe University. His teaching portfolio includes Environmental Economics, Economics for Business and Principles of Economics.
Jay specialises in environmental economics and his research interests focus on water institutions and policy making, efficiency and productivity analysis and economics of climate change adaptation. He has contributed to many research projects dealing with urban water management, catchment management and watershed development in Australia and South Asia. He has over seventy publications including journal articles in top-ranked journals and book chapters in authoritative volumes.

Jay Ananda is a World Bank Postgraduate Scholar. He received both his Masters and doctoral degrees from La Trobe University, Melbourne, Victoria. Prior to that he graduated from University of Peradeniya (Sri Lanka) in BSc (Hons), specialising in Agricultural Economics.
