About Me
Dr. Arshia Kaul is a Lecturer in the School of Business and Law at Central Queensland University, with expertise spanning operations management, business analytics, operations research, supply chain management, sustainability, and quality management. She brings more than 13 years of academic experience across Australia and India, combining excellence in teaching, research, curriculum development, and industry engagement. She currently serves as Unit Coordinator and Lecturer for subjects including Professional Practice and Career Development, Business Ethics and Sustainability, Professional Practice and Experience, and Business Analytics.
Dr. Kaul holds a PhD, along with an MPhil and Master’s degree in Operations Management. Her teaching qualifications include a Graduate Certificate in University Teaching, the Melbourne Teaching Certificate, and a Certificate of Small Group Teaching from The University of Melbourne, complemented by a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
Her teaching philosophy is centred on creating engaging, student-focused learning experiences that connect theory with real-world practice. Throughout her career, she has taught and coordinated a broad range of undergraduate and postgraduate subjects, including Operations Management, Operations Research, Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, Project Management, Design Thinking, Research Methodology, Business Decision Analysis, and Sustainability. She is committed to employability-focused education and regularly collaborates with industry practitioners, professional bodies, and guest speakers to enhance students’ career readiness and professional development.
Dr. Kaul’s research focuses on operations and supply chain management, digital transformation, Quality 4.0, sustainable supply chains, operational excellence, business analytics, artificial intelligence, and responsible management. She has established an impressive publication record in leading international journals, including Business Strategy and the Environment, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, Journal of Management & Organization, Sustainable Development, The TQM Journal, Journal of Cleaner Production, and the International Journal of Quality & Reliability Management. She has published over 10 ABDC A-ranked journal papers and 6+ ABDC B-ranked journal papers, with many appearing in Q1-ranked international journals.
Her research applies analytical and systems-thinking approaches to address contemporary challenges in sustainability, resilience, innovation, and organisational performance.
An active contributor to the international academic community, Dr. Kaul has published teaching cases with SAGE Business Cases, Ivey Publishing, and The Case Centre. She regularly presents her work at national and international conferences and has received recognition through several research and teaching awards, including the IEOM Business Management Education Award, the Excellence in Women’s Leadership Award in Operations Research, and multiple Best Paper Awards.
Beyond her teaching and research roles, Dr. Kaul is deeply engaged in academic leadership and professional service. She serves as a PRME Champion within the School of Business and Law and contributes to several international initiatives promoting responsible management education, sustainability, diversity, and inclusion. She is actively involved in research grant projects, editorial activities, conference organisation, doctoral supervision, and international collaborations. Her professional service includes editorial and reviewer roles for leading journals in operations management, quality management, and sustainable business.
Through her interdisciplinary expertise, industry engagement, and commitment to student success, Dr. Kaul seeks to develop future-ready graduates while advancing research that contributes to more sustainable, innovative, and resilient organisations and supply chains.
