About Me
Dr Samer Skaik is a seasoned educator and project management consultant with over two decades of expertise and 65 refereed publications in project management, construction management, and the higher education. Following the completion of his civil engineering degree in 2002, he had held diverse technical and managerial roles within the construction sector in the Middle East, including serving as a Senior Projects Manager for landmark projects such as 'DAMAC Heights,' the fifth-tallest residential building in the world at the time.
Dr Skaik's research is centred around optimising adjudication in construction projects. The impact of his research in this area extended beyond academia, influencing several major legislative review reports in Australia and resulting in substantial law reforms to the building and construction industry in the country and beyond.
Joining Central Queensland University's Melbourne campus in 2017, Dr Skaik has since been actively contributing to the learning & teaching scholarship. His efforts are particularly focused on combatting academic dishonesty and exploring interactive technologies to enhance the student learning experience. His scholarly practices in promoting academic integrity has been recognised by the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA), shaping academic integrity policies and guides of many academic institutions.
Dr Skaik's impactful research has earned him recognition through many prizes, including five Brooking Prize Commendation Awards and the esteemed Walt Lipke Winner Award. Currently, he is supervising multiple PhD and masters students, guiding their research on various topics related to construction & project management. His own research remains focused on making construction adjudication more effective and convenient for resolving project disputes.
Alongside his academic commitments, he continues to engage with the industry to provide ad-hoc consultancy services to numerous businesses on contractual and managerial matters.
