Dr Fae Heaselgrave is a senior lecturer and researcher in the School of Arts, with more than 25 years' combined experience as a strategic communication practitioner and educator. Fae's pedagogical expertise in curriculum design and development is informed by universal design for learning principles that inspire and empower learners through multiple means of engagement and expression.
Her research focuses on changes in the communicative practices of families in response to increased ownership and use of digital media in the home. Fae is particularly interested in how contemporary parenting practices are shaped through everyday interactions with digital media, and the role that gender plays in influencing parents' management and decision-making around media use. Fae's current projects explore the experiences of parent gamers and the usefulness of national classification guidelines for Australian parents.
