About Me
Dr. Dushyant Tanna is an experienced lecturer and data analyst with expertise in mathematics, statistics, and data science. He completed his PhD at the University of Newcastle in 2017 and currently teaches at CQUniversity. His courses encompass both foundational and advanced topics, including Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, Fundamental Mathematics, and Statistics.
With over twenty years of teaching experience in India and Australia, Dr. Tanna is dedicated to promoting student equity and academic success. He consistently receives outstanding feedback from students, who appreciate his clear explanations, practical teaching style, and commitment to their learning outcomes. His approach integrates real-world applications, interactive technologies, and a strong focus on inclusivity to support students from diverse academic backgrounds.
Dr. Tanna's research explores the intersections of graph theory, knowledge graphs, graph labeling, artificial intelligence, and higher education analytics. He is particularly interested in how data and mathematics can inform institutional strategy and enhance learning environments. Among his contributions is a specific graph labeling technique called "Reflexive Irregular Labeling," which assigns even numbers to the vertices of a graph while allowing any positive integer for the edge labels.
Before returning to academia in higher education and vocational education and training (VET), Dr. Tanna worked in data reporting and analytics at David Jones and Hireup, where he developed skills in data validation, process automation, and retail forecasting. This experience further enriched his insights into applied analytics and operational efficiency.
Fluent in English, Hindi, Gujarati, and conversational Portuguese, Dr. Tanna brings a global perspective to his teaching and research. His long-term goal is to bridge the gap between academia, industry, and the community by empowering students with data-driven thinking and real-world skills.
