About Me

I was born and raised on the Caribbean island of Trinidad. I left home to pursue university studies and then medical school in the USA and South America. I've lived, studied and worked in several cities, in different countries and eventually ended up at CQUniversity in October of 2018. As part of the clinical sciences team at CQUni, I teach Medical Anatomy and Physiology to our 1st year allied health students. I have a real interest in the human body and how it works. It is quite amazing in its intricacies. This interest has also led me to be actively involved in medical research over the past 10+ years.

General
Background

I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of Mississippi in Oxford, MS USA. I then went on to do my Masters of Clinical Sciences and a Doctor of Medicine at American International School of Medicine with its main campus in Guyana, South America and clinical sites in the USA.

After graduating with my MD, I went on to do 3 post-doctoral research stints at the National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland and University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, both in the USA and the third with a private foundation in affiliation with the University of Queensland in Brisbane.

I joined the CQUni staff in October 2018 as part of the Clinical Sciences Team in the School of Health, Medical and Applied Sciences.
