About Me

I am Rahima Akter, a current PhD candidate at the CQUniversity, Melbourne campus. My research area is the well-being of the women workers in the Ready-made garments industry in Bangladesh.

Professional Experience

I have been working in a government trade promotion agency, namely Export Promotion Bureau, Ministry of Commerce in Bangladesh for the last 12 years as the Assistant Director (Research). My major responsibilities were -

· Conducting research on international trade and Bangladesh export market and product issues;

· Conducting training for new exporters;

· Organizing seminars/workshops for Bangladeshi exporters and buyers from different countries;

· Making presentations to large foreign business and diplomatic delegations;

· Formulating project proposals and liaison with international and regional trade organizations;

· Inspecting different manufacturing units of Bangladeshi exportable regularly; etc.
