I am a Chartered Professional Engineering (Civil and Management) with a PhD in water resources management. I have been involved in several research collaborations investigating innovative water use in domestic, commercial and agricultural sectors. Recent and current projects focused on smart water metering, irrigation water efficiency in agriculture, enhancing the environmental benefits of urban rainwater harvesting, developing an innovative carbon-negative green energy to adapt our built environment to the natural world, and several humanitarian engineering projects.
As the Head of College (Engineering and Aviation), I am privileged to lead the development and delivery of courses for staff and students throughout Australia. Our Aviation team is located in Cairns, delivering undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Aviation Management and Flight Operations. Our Engineering team stretches from Cairns to Melbourne, with staff and students working online or based on our Mackay, Rockhampton, Gladstone, Bundaberg, Brisbane and Sydney campuses. Our engineering team delivers undergraduate and postgraduate courses renowned for exemplary graduate work-readiness thanks to extensive partnerships with the engineering industry.
I enjoy working at CQU as their strategic plan and mission reflect my values to support staff, students, and communities. Based in Bundaberg, I also enjoy teaching the foundation of engineering practice, creative engineering, and Honours thesis projects, which create tangible outcomes and promote engineering career opportunities in the local community.
