I have received my PhD in Telecommunication from the University of South Australia and my Bachelor of Engineering degree (Electrical and Electronic) (First Class Honours) from the University of Adelaide. My PhD thesis was on improving handover performance of cellular mobile networks using predictive techniques. Since completing my PhD, I have worked as a Researcher Fellow and a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Telecommunicaiton Research (ITR) in Adelaide and as a visiting Research Fellow at the Advanced Telecommunication Research Institute in Kyoto, Japan. At ITR, I have contributed to a number of high profile research and consultancy projects funded by the government and industry including, Defence Science and Technology (DST), Defence Material Organisation (DMO), Auspace, ETRI, South Korea, and INMARSAT, UK. My research publications are in the areas of wireless sensor and ad hoc networks, resource allocation in wireless networks and opportunistic communication in wireless networks.
Since joining CQUniversity, I have held the roles of Discipline Leader - Electrical Engineering, Head of Course - Undergraduate Engineering and I am currently the Head of College - Engineering and Aviation.
My current research interests are:
Matlab, Simulink, Multisim, Reiverbed (OPNET), ns-2
