Dr Aaron Scanlan is an Associate Professor in Exercise and Sport Sciences at Central Queensland University (CQU). Aaron is the Lead for the Exercise and Sports Science Rehabilitation Research Cluster, and an Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA) Accredited Exercise Scientist and Accredited Sport Scientist. He coordinates the exercise and sport physiology undergraduate units at CQU and is an active postgraduate supervisor having supervised several research students to completion across all levels (Honours, Graduate Certificate, Masters, and PhD). Aaron's research focus is multi-dimensional, exploring various aspects of applied sport science and being recognised as a world leader specifically in basketball research. He has authored >180 journal manuscripts, >60 conference publications, and 7 book chapters, while also attracting >$750k of funding and support. Aaron strongly values working with good people and making a genuine impact on industry and community. In this regard, Aaron has collaborated with researchers from >20 countries and engaged with sports teams and organisations through research and consultation roles, including the National Basketball Association, National Basketball League, Women's National Basketball League, Euroleague, ESSA, United States Olympic Committee, ANZ Netball Championship, Australian Institute of Sport, and Athletics Australia.
