About Me
Dr. Mohammad Reza Salehizadeh is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Central Queensland University (CQU) with over 20 years of experience in research, teaching, R&D, consulting, design, and simulation in the fields of electricity markets, smart grids, power systems, optimization, decision-making, and control. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE and an active contributor to the global power and energy systems research community.
Before joining CQU, he served as a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Cleaner Production, Intelligent Systems Laboratory, Pukyong National University, Busan, South Korea. Previously, he was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Islamic Azad University, Marvdasht Branch (Iran), where he also founded and led the Smart Systems Research Group and successfully managed both the Industrial Relations Office and the Department of Electrical Engineering for three years, providing strong academic and administrative leadership.
Dr. Salehizadeh has led or supervised numerous projects, including agent-based electricity market modeling using machine learning approaches, P2P electricity market design, congestion management via game-theoretic and multi-criteria decision-making methods, energy community design, energy hub optimization, transmission pricing, and loss allocation in electricity markets.
He has collaborated extensively with international research teams and institutions across Iran, Turkey, Finland, the United Kingdom, Portugal, Malta, Spain, and Italy, focusing on interdisciplinary research in electricity markets and energy systems. His editorial activities include serving as Guest Editor for IET Smart Cities, Energies, Sustainable Energy, Grids and Networks, Journal of Control, and Sustainable Energy Technologies and Assessments.
He is also the Co-Editor of the Elsevier book Hydrogen and e-Mobility: Technologies, Integration, and Optimal Management. His research continues to bridge advanced optimization, artificial intelligence, and energy systems control toward resilient and sustainable power networks.
