After completing a Bachelor of Science with majors in Biological Sciences and Psychology in 2013 at the University of Alberta (Canada), I pursued a Masters of Speech Pathology Studies at the University of Queensland, graduating in 2015. Subsequently, I decided to embark on a PhD journey, while working as a Speech Pathologist in Residential Aged Care Facilities, with my dissertation focusing on the impact of communication impairments in people with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) over a 12-month period. This research led me to develop two services for MND Queensland: a MND-specific speech pathology service and a free mobile voice banking clinic. In teaching, my approach aims to empower students to become self-assured, analytical thinkers, and self-directed Speech Pathologists who advance professionally.
