Dr Ambi's research interests are interdisciplinary and focus on the intersection between data science and healthcare. They include Bioinformatics (analyzing next-generation sequencing NGS data), Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Digital Signal Processing, and Physical computing using micro controllers and sensors.
Dr Ambi has been a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy since 2012 and possesses extensive teaching leadership experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Additionally, he has worked as a Software Engineer in various multinational companies, including Capability Maturity Model Level 5 international companies. He received a special Appreciation Award from GE Capital, USA, for outstanding work. Dr Ambi completed his Ph.D. degree in computer science from Brunel University, United Kingdom. He has demonstrated leadership by actively engaging with international partners such as the United Kingdom National Health Services and the Food Industry Centre UK.
Dr. Ambi utilizes his research and industry experience to enhance the student experience and incorporates real-world impact case studies into his teaching. He is passionate about leveraging data science to create technology that serves the public good and improves healthcare.
Dr. Ambi holds an undergraduate degree in science (Physics, Chemistry, Maths), a Masters in Computer Science, and a PhD in Computer Science. After working in the industry as a Software Engineer for a few years, he was awarded a fully funded PhD scholarship leading to his PhD in Computer Science from Brunel University United Kingdom in 2010. He has been involved in several funded enterprise projects, including Knowledge Transfer Partnerships, and has published in international journals.
