About Me
Dr Chris Aiken is a physical oceanographer and marine ecologist who specialises in the application of numerical ocean modelling and metapopulation principles to coastal ecosystem restoration. His research interests include designs for marine reserves, carbon flux estimation of coastal ecosystems, desalination technologies and impacts on the marine environment, ocean observing systems, climate variability, fjord/estuarine circulation. He has acted as principal investigator in over a dozen competitive research grants and led collaborative research with the shipping and fishing industries.
