Danielle Le Lagadec is a senior lecturer in the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Science at CQUniversity. She obtained a BSc, BHons, MSc and PhD in Entomology from the University of Pretoria, South Africa, and was involved in applied agricultural research for over 25 years. She obtained a B Nursing from CQUniversity in 2014 and a PhD in Nursing in 2021. Her nursing PhD involved a quantitative study of the use of Early Warning Systems to recognise patient deterioration in resource-poor regional/rural hospitals. She continues to work in the clinical sector as a registered nurse in a small regional hospital.
Born in Mauritius, raised and educated in South Africa, and immigrated to Australia as an agricultural researcher in 2005. Specialised in subtropical tree crop production systems and post-harvest fruit quality control. Danielle changed careers in 2014 and is now involved in acute patient care in nursing and patient deterioration research.
