About Me
I'm originally from Cairns, in Far North Queensland and I have always had a passion for sport and exercise. I started my professional career in Exercise and Sports Science in 2009 when I began my Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science with Honours at James Cook University in Cairns. Following that, I undertook a PhD with James Cook University that investigated the effects of short-term heat acclimation training on endurance performance, immune function, and inflammation.
My work has taken me from Far North Queensland, to the South West of England, and now back to North Queensland with CQ University. My research interests include thermal physiology and athletic performance in extreme environments, the effects of exercise on immune function and inflammation, as well as team and individual strength and conditioning.
In my spare time I coach and consult for athletes in a range of sports such as football (soccer), strength sports, and triathlon.
