Dr Loan Dao is an Adjunct Lecturer within the School of Access Education. Her past roles within the higher education sector have included learning adviser, lecturer and tutor in the discipline of educational leadership and change, research assistant in the area of STEM education, tutor for the Indigenous Tutorial Assistance Scheme - Tertiary Tuition, and head facilitator of an enabling summer school program. Dr Dao's current research areas of interest include leadership of change, educational policy and reform, professional learning and development of educational leaders and pre-service teachers, and enabling education.
Prior to entering the higher education sector, Dr Dao held various roles in schools, which were secondary school teacher (Legal Studies, Economics, Accounting), subject coordinator, and middle level curriculum leader. She was also a District Panellist in Senior Economics for the then statutory education body of the Queensland Government, Queensland Studies Authority. Dr Dao maintains current teacher registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.
