Dr Amlan Haque received his PhD in Responsible Leadership and HRM from the School of Management, Operations & Marketing at the University of Wollongong (UOW), Australia. He was awarded an Endeavour Postgraduate Award (also known as Australia Award) for his outstanding academic excellence and leadership skills. He also completed a Master of Strategic Human Resource Management from UOW; and a Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Business Studies specialising in Management from Rajshahi University, Bangladesh. Before UOW, he was appointed as a Senior Lecturer at the School of Business, Independent University, Bangladesh (from August 2003 to June 2012). In addition to teaching, he has been actively involved in research initiatives to participate in leading conferences – specifically Australian and New Zealand Academy of Management (ANZAM) and Asia Pacific Researchers in Organization Studies (APROS) and European Group for Organizational Studies (EGOS) – and published several conceptual and empirical papers in peer-reviewed journals including Journal of Business Ethics and Leadership & Organization Development Journal. In addition to his research collaborations, Dr Haque is working as a research scholar at the Fight Food Waste Cooperative Research Centre (FFWCRC), Australia with Professor David Pearson. The FFWCRC is a 10-year research program and holds over $60 million of funding from around 60 organisations throughout Australia who represent multiple stages of the food value chain. Dr Haque's research interests include responsible leadership, leadership practices and employee outcomes in organisations, presenteeism, strategic HRM, climate change and complex modelling using structural equation modelling (SEM).

Dr Amlan Haque worked as a research assistant on a research project, ‘Leading responsibly during unpopular stakeholder decision-making’ which examined how senior leaders handle reputation issues when taking unpopular decisions for the betterment of business and higher education institutions. Led by Professor Mario Fernando, this project was funded by the Faculty of Business, UOW. Dr Haque was responsible for developing the business sector literature review and helped with project management, data collection and analysis. His work contributed to building a strong theoretical foundation to develop a systematic and comprehensive literature review but was not limited to leadership and reputation management.

1. Collaborating on a research project, “Presenteeism among Australian Employees” to measure the cost of presenteeism due to productivity loss with Professor Peter Caputi, Head, School of Psychology, Faculty of Social Sciences and Professor Mario Fernando, School of Management, Operations and Marketing, Faculty of Business at the University of Wollongong (UOW).
2. Collaborating on a research project, “The impact of leadership on the climate migrant victims of Bangladesh with the Western Sydney University (WSU). In 2019, a paper titled, “Climate change belief and resilience to climate change in Bangladesh: Is leadership making any difference?” from this project has been awarded as the best stream (Sustainability and Social Issues in Management) and the best conference paper in the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Management (ANZAM) conference.
3. Collaborating on a research project, “Responsible leadership, socially responsible HRM and employee outcomes” with United International University (UIU, Bangladesh). This project will explore the influence of responsible leadership on both socially responsible HRM and employee outcomes among Bangladeshi bank employees.
