About Me

Gabrielle Rigney is a Senior Lecturer and Honours Thesis Coordinator in Psychology at the Appleton Institute, CQUniversity Australia, based in Adelaide. Her primary research focus is on paediatric sleep and sleep education. Gabrielle completed her PhD in 2015, evaluating a school-based sleep education program for pre-adolescents. Following her PhD, she undertook a post-doctoral fellowship at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, where she collaborated with a team of paediatric sleep specialists across Canada to develop eHealth programs for parents of children with insomnia. Her post-doctoral fellowship focused on adapting an eHealth sleep intervention for parents of children with neurodevelopmental disorders, utilizing a transdiagnostic approach to treatment. Gabrielle is passionate about sleep education and continues to develop eHealth programs for teachers and has been working with a team to tailor sleep hygiene guidelines specifically for shift workers.
