Dr Luke Heales is a Senior Lecturer in musculoskeletal physiotherapy & and one of the Postgraduate Research Coordinators for the School of Health Medical and Applied Sciences, at Central Queensland University. Dr. Heales is also an active researcher specialising in injury and rehabilitation, predominantly of the upper limb. Dr. Heales holds a Bachelor of Health Science (Physiotherapy) from Auckland University of Technology (Valedictorian), a Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) from The University of Queensland (Dean’s Award), and a Postgraduate Certificate in Tertiary Education from Central Queensland University. Dr. Heales has over 10 years of clinical and tertiary level teaching experience in undergraduate and post-graduate physiotherapy courses. He has expertise in the assessment and management of musculoskeletal injury and teaches into specialty areas, including persistent tendon pain and workplace occupational rehabilitation. Dr. Heales does consultancy work improving the research knowledge of clinical employees within hospital settings and has experience in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies. Dr. Heales has received over $500,000 in competitive funding from both research and teaching perspectives. He is currently supervising 4 research higher degree students.
