Michelle Roberts is an Associate Lecturer in Digital Media at Central Queensland University and recipient of the Vice-Chancellor's Award for Exemplary Practice in Learning and Teaching (2020). A Rockhampton local, she has over 20 years' experience in tertiary education, specialising in multi-modal course delivery across face-to-face and online study modes. Michelle has taught across the Digital Media discipline including Print Design, Web Design, User Experience Design, Animation and Visual Communication Design.
Michelle is an associate member of CREATE and is currently completing her Doctor of Philosophy investigating educational equivalence from the student perspective. Her research uses constructivist grounded theory to understand what students believe contributes to equivalent learning experiences across different study modes, with a particular focus on experiential equivalence - what students actually seek in their educational experience - rather than solely institutional measures of outcome equivalence. This work aims to develop practical strategies that higher education institutions can adopt to ensure all students receive high-quality education, regardless of their chosen study mode.
