About Me

I am a research professor working primarily on psychological and health aspects of gambling. My main expertise is in research methods and statistics, and so I often act as a consulting statistician assisting other researchers and students. I enjoy applying statistical and machine learning methods across several disciplines, but especially in social science and psychology.

General
Background

I completed a PhD in psychophysiology methodology in 2002, publishing several novel methods for the analysis of EEG recordings. Before coming to CQU, I worked in several research organisations including CSIRO and the Fraunhofer Gesslschaft (Institute for Autonomous Systems). For a time, I also  ran my own commercial construction business.
