Background
As a registered nurse and nursing educator I have had diverse clinical and clinical educator experiences, most recently focussed on facilitation roles and on medical/surgical nursing.
My area of interest in nursing education and research is primarily clinical teaching and my goal is to be a sought after educator to support stakeholders working in the clinical teaching/work integrated learning space.
This broad subject means I am an engaged researcher and educator in the following areas;
- professional development and professional identity formation for registered nurses working in both classroom and clinical settings and transitioning to clinical teaching role
- work integrated learning
- supporting students undertaking WIL
- story and narrative pedagogy in nursing
- healthcare simulation
- research methodologies - action research approaches, critical social theory, systematic reviews,

Previous teaching
Previous to teaching at CQ University I have worked as a clinical facilitator at several facilities on the Sunshine Coast. I also have extensive experience facilitating and evaluating educational workshops in both present and past employment.
