I am a Senior Lecturer specializing in Asset and Maintenance Management at CQUniversity, where I have been a dedicated member of the faculty since 2010. At the core of my professional identity lies my background as a mechanical engineer, a passion I have nurtured throughout my career. My expertise is rooted in tribology, an area in which I earned my Ph.D., focusing specifically on the wear of materials and lubrication of bearings and gears. This knowledge forms the bedrock of my teaching and research endeavors in asset and maintenance management, where I effectively apply tribological principles to solve complex maintenance challenges.
In my role, I extensively utilize techniques such as oil analysis, vibration monitoring, and Nondestructive Testing (NDT) to diagnose and address maintenance issues. Furthermore, I actively supervise Ph.D. students in diverse areas, including Rail Tribology, Asset Management of Electricity Distribution Systems, Alternative Fuels, and Asset Management of Electric Vehicles.
My academic journey has been enriched by experiences at prestigious institutions worldwide, including IIT Delhi, UNCC (USA), NTH Trondheim (Norway), RMIT, and Monash University. This global exposure has broadened my perspective and enriched my approach to teaching and research.
In addition to my academic pursuits, I have contributed significantly to the field through the publication of a book on Clean Energy, which I had the privilege to edit and publish. Moreover, I am enthusiastic about engaging in consulting opportunities and collaborative research projects within my areas of expertise.
In summary, I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the field of Asset and Maintenance Management, and I am committed to furthering the understanding and application of these principles through teaching, research, and collaboration.
Qualifications: B.E. (Mech.) Jodhpur University, M. Tech. (Mech.), IIT Delhi, PhD (QUT)
Specialization: Mechanical Engineering specialized in Tribology of Gears and bearings, Asset Management and Clean energy.
Research interests: Tribology, Alternative fuels, Asset and maintenance management.
My primary research focus is on asset and maintenance management, with a specialized emphasis on the tribology of machines. Additionally, I am actively engaged in research related to alternative fuels. Over the years, I have led numerous sponsored and consulting projects focused on failure analysis and tribological studies of engineering assets. Within industrial research, I have developed a keen interest in oil analysis and lubricant performance, exploring their implications for asset reliability and performance optimization. I possess a good understanding of the ISO 55000 suite of Asset Management standards and have hands-on experience supervising industry-based real-life projects.
