Dr Linda De George-Walker has been a casual lecturer in Psychology at CQUniversity since 2017. She was a full-time Senior Lecturer in Psychology at CQUniversity from 2011-2016, before joining the CQUniversity Office of Social Innovation as the Associate Director (Academic) from 2016-2018. She has continued her passion for social innovation, engagement and advocacy in various roles including in health and is currently a senior policy advisor for the Australian Psychological Society (APS).
Throughout a psychology career spanning 25+ years, Linda has taught courses in the areas of lifespan developmental psychology, educational psychology, school psychology, psychometric assessment, special education, and guidance and counselling. Her research interests include self-efficacy and teacher self-efficacy; school based mental health and social and emotional learning; and teaching and learning in higher education. She has also researched digital literacies for learning, health and wellbeing, especially for older adults.
Linda is also a registered Psychologist. Prior to working in the university sector her professional work as a psychologist included working in school counselling, disability support roles, and training and staff development. She also conducted her own part-time private psychology practice working with youth and adults with mental health issues.
