Professional Experience

I have worked in the area of Mental Health Nursing for over 9 years. The past four years my work has been focused on transitional care planning (discharge planning) from the acute psychiatric inpatient setting.

Key Achievements

I was the first transitional care nurse in Mental Health Nursing in Tasmania.  As a result I have been invited to speak at a number of conferences regarding the principles of transitional care planning and the ways in which we apply the principles of patient-centered care to this area.

I have completed a Bachelor of Nursing with Honours by Research looking at staff perspectives of transitional care planning in psychiatry.
