I have over 25 years of research experience in Artificial Intelligence in universities and research organisations (in different countries and fields). My work is predominantly multidisciplinary, working in very different disciplines with diverse requirements and standards. I completed my PhD in Legal Informatics, where I have applied symbolic AI techniques (mostly from Logic and Computer Science) in the legal domain, specifically for the representation of legal reasoning, and business process management. After my PhD, I have spent over 20 years working in Computer Science and Information Technology in Australian universities and research organisations. A key tenet of my work is to focus on novel and innovative, conceptually sound and feasible research outcomes. This means achieving a well-balanced combination of ground-breaking theoretical research with a clear view of possible applications.
