Justine Hotten is a Lecturer in Justice and Criminology at CQUniversity in Australia. She is an early career qualitative researcher in domestic and family violence (DFV) and sexual violence (SV), with a particular focus on queer women's experiences, sexual consent, and sexuality education. She works as a consultant for Work Up Queensland for training and resources, and a researcher for the Queer and Trans Workers Against Violence (QTWAV) in working to create specialised DFV and SV training and education packages, and support and advice for both the DFV sector and queer community services in Queensland.
Justine Hotten completed a Bachelor of Justice (Criminology and Policing) with Distinction, Bachelor of Justice (Honours), and a Ph.D. at the Queensland University of Technology.
Hotten has been teaching and lecturing in the Bachelor of Justice at QUT since 2007. During that time, she also worked as a sessional at Griffith University and the University of Queensland.
Justine Hotten is a member of the Queensland Centre for Domestic and Family Violence Research (QCDFVR) and the Australian and New Zealand Society of Criminology (ANZSOC).
