I am a Senior Lecturer of Accounting at CQUniversity, Australia.
I am a research active academic with more than 17 years of teaching experiences in higher education sector in Australia and overseas. I am also an industry-focused researcher and I have experiences of working with financial institutions and not-for-profit organisations. My research interests are in financial reporting, corporate governance, accounting analytics, and first nations businesses in Australia. I have research expertise in both qualitative and quantitative methods.
Prior to complete my PhD from La Trobe University Australia, I did a Master’s Degree in Finance and Development from the University London (SOAS), an MBA in Banking & Finance and a Bachelor’s (Hons) Degree in Finance. I also completed a post graduate qualification in higher education teaching and learning from Charles Darwin University.
I began my career as an academic at Independent University Bangladesh and worked as Senior Lecturer in Finance for almost 10 years. Then I worked as a Lecturer in Accounting at Charles Darwin University for more than 6 years.
I received International Post Graduate research scholarship for PhD degree at La Trobe University.
I have expertise in teaching accounting and finance units . I taught Financial Accounting, Corporate Reporting, Advanced Financial Accounting, Corporate Finance, Governance & Ethics and Accounting Theory for undergraduate and masters degree courses.
I worked for more than 10 years as a Senior Lecturer in Finance at Independent University, Bangladesh. Later I worked over 6 years as a Lecturer in Accounting at Charles Darwin University, Australia.
I am a Certified Practising Accountant ( CPA) and I am also a member of Accounting and Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand (AFAANZ) and British Accounting & Finance Association (BAFA).
I published my research papers in ABDC ranked A and A* journals including, Pacific Basin Finance Journal, Accounting and Finance, Contemporary Accounting and Economics Journal, Accounting, Auditing and Accountability. In addition, I completed a PhD research supervision as a principal supervisor while I was an early career researcher at Charles Darwin University. Later this thesis has been awarded as the best PhD thesis by AFAANZ in 2024 and my supervisee has been offered a full time position at an University in New Zealand. I also have been successful in securing internal and external research grants for my research projects which includes, AFAANZ grant, CPA Australia grant and ICAEW grant etc.
Proficient in STATA, Power Bi, and Microsoft office.
