About Me

Dr Qing Wu is a Senior Research Fellow at the School of Engineering and Technology, CQUniversity. He is also the Mechanical Discipline Leader at the Centre for Railway Engineering. His research interests include mechanical system dynamics, parallel computing, multiobjective optimization, dynamics control, and their applications in railway and road vehicles.

Dr. Wu is a project leader and chief investigator for more than 10 research projects. He is also the recipient of an Australian Research Council DECRA funded by the Australian Government.

Dr. Wu has more than 162 scientific publications with 2243 citations and a H-index of 27. He is on editorial boards of Journal of Traffic and Transport Engineering, Railway Engineering Sciences, and Electronic Research Achieve. He is also a Guest Editor for several Special Issues on different international journals and a member for two Australian Standards development groups. Dr Wu is a grant assessor Australian Research Council Discovery Projects, Linkage Projects and Industry Fellowship, as well as an award reviewer for Chinese Academy of Sciences.

He has organised two international collaborative research projects ‘freight train air brake modelling practices (2021)’ and ‘International Benchmarking of Longitudinal Train Dynamics Simulators (2017)’ which had participants from more than 20 ionisations from more than 12 countries. He is also the CQU Technical Representative to UIC (International Union of Railways) Harmotrack Project, and a member of the International Joint Laboratory on Railway Engineering System Dynamics.

 

Dr Wu has won various awards including multiple best paper awards, best thesis awards, researcher awards and presentation awards.
