Dr Ashlyn Sahay, is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Nursing, Midwifery, and Social Sciences and has over 15 years of experience in the healthcare industry. Ashlyn has established herself as a figure in the development of regional, rural and remote health systems with former roles as the Coordinator for Health Workforce Academy, and Coordinator, postgraduate research. In these roles, Ashlyn spearheaded efforts to enhance research capabilities for higher degree research candidates engaged in health workforce research, and fostered research excellence and collaborations between academia and industry to drive impactful research outcomes. Ashlyn currently leads a program of Writing Retreats for higher degree research candidates to keep their writing momentum going and successful completion.
Ashlyn is a mixed methods researcher, and combines qualitative and quantitative approaches to investigate critical areas such as clinical governance, patient safety, and quality care both in Aged Care and Healthcare settings. She is particularly passionate about improving care delivery in aged care, health workforce development, facilitating smooth graduate transitions to practice, and nurturing effective leadership. Ashlyn continuously builds on industry-academia collaborations, and creates an environment that empowers the next generation of healthcare professionals to make a lasting impact on the industry. Ashlyn's profile is characterised by her exceptional research acumen, commitment to healthcare improvement, and the development of innovative strategies to address pressing challenges. Her contributions continue to shape the Aged and Health Workforce, ultimately resulting in improved outcomes for communities far and wide.
