Dr. Thao Trinh is currently a lecturer in Project Management, College of Project Management, Built Environment, Asset & Maintenance Management in the school of Engineering and Technology, at CQU University.
She received her Ph.D. degree in Business Information Systems at the RMIT University in Australia in 2012.
Prior to joining CQU in 2018, Dr. Thao Trinh was a lecturer at the school of Business Information Technology and Logistics (BITL), RMIT University from 2013 to 2018.
In research, Dr. Thao Trinh received the Australian Council of Professors and Heads of Information Systems (ACPHIS)’s medal for Australian best Ph.D. thesis in information systems (2013), RMIT University Excellent Doctoral Research Prize (2013), and RMIT Research Publications Grant (2012).
In teaching, she received CQU's Student Voice Commendation 2019 ( On-Campus Educators of the Year) and CQU's Student Voice Commendation 2019 (Educators of the Year).
Before becoming an academic, Dr. Thao Trinh worked in the IT industry as an SAP system consultant and completed various projects in different industries such as manufacturing, telecommunication, and
media in Malaysia, Singapore, and Germany.

Her research interest is in the area of strategic management of information systems in organizations. Specifically, she is interested in identifying the challenges and solutions that face the organizations in regard to the use of enterprise systems, cloud computing, and analytics technologies for developing organizational agility to sustain in a dynamic business environment.
