I am a qualified remedial massage therapist with a diploma of remedial therapies, specialising in myofascial release, trigger point and craniosacral therapy. I practiced as a therapist working with osteopaths, chiropractors, managed a clinic with a variety of therapists in it, and ran my own business as a remedial therapist for approximately 10 years. Whilst working as a remedial therapist I taught remedial massage students and supervised student clinics for approximately four years.
I did my undergraduate Bachelor of Health Science, Bachelor of Science with honours majoring in physiology and my Doctorate in exercise physiology at the University of New England in Armidale, NSW, Australia. I have completed a Graduate Certificate of Tertiary and Adult Education at Central Queensland University.
University of New England, teaching in anatomy and physiology, and pathophysiology in Nursing units. Throughout my honours and PhD I consistently assisted in the anatomy and physiology undergraduate student laboratory practical sessions as a demonstrator and supervisor. I was also the unit coordinator for numerous units during my PhD, including nursing units which focused on cardiovascular and respiratory anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology and pharmacology.
