About Me
Professor Miller has strong leadership experience and a passion for achieving positive collaborative outcomes for Indigenous communities, including his own Jirrbal people in north Queensland. Professor Miller is an established Public Health scholar and is known nationally and internationally for his research and leadership in First Nations public health research, in particular, infectious diseases. Since mid-2018 he has held the roles of Deputy Vice-President Indigenous Engagement and BMA/BHP Chair in Indigenous Engagement at CQUniversity, adding Director of the Jawun Research Centre to his responsibilities in 2020. He has previously held distinguished positions at Charles Darwin, Griffith, Southern Cross, Macquarie and James Cook Universities and maintains strong links to various other prestigious health research and educational institutions.

Responsibilities
As a member of the university executive, shape strategic direction in Indigenous perspectives are embedded across our operations and amplified within our university community; continue leading Indigenous Engagement agenda with community and industry; drive strategic activities and advancing First Nations-focused research; guide efforts to integrate First Nations knowledge and practices into our curriculum; increase First Nations workforce engagement and participation and grow Indigenous student enrolments student completions and success.
Key Achievements
In 2020 I successfully lead the proposal and launch of the Australian-first, First Nations Research Higher Degree (RHD) Academy.
