Dr. Anita Z. Chang is a senior postdoctoral research fellow with the Precision Livestock Management team at Central Queensland University. Anita completed a Bachelor of Animal and Veterinary Bioscience (Hons I) at The University of Sydney in 2017, where her first class honours project investigate the use of walk-over-weigh scales for capturing calf birth weight. More recently, Anita obtained a PhD in Precision Livestock Management from Central Queensland University. Her thesis, entitled "The remote, autonomous monitoring of calving and calf loss using on-animal sensing systems", provides a comprehensive guide to the development of a commercial calving detection device to improve productivity and animal welfare on-farm.
Anita's primary research interests include precision livestock management, cow-calf interactions, and livestock behaviour, with a focus on applied research resulting in real world outcomes.
