I am currently a nursing academic at CQUniversity, working towards the completion of my PhD. In my role, I serve as the coordinator for first-year students in the Bachelor of Nursing program. I hold several qualifications, including a Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Education and a Master of Nurse Practitioner Studies with a focus on Chronic Disease Management from the University of Queensland (UQ). Additionally, I have Diplomas in Health Studies, COPD Management, and Asthma Management from the UK. I teach both clinical and theoretical subjects within the Bachelor of Nursing curriculum.
As a developing researcher, my interests primarily focus on chronic disease management, respiratory care, and education. I am also a guest lecturer at the University of Queensland, where I teach medical students about COPD and asthma management in community and primary healthcare settings. Furthermore, I am a committee member for the Lung Foundation Australia's Primary Care Clinical Advisory and serve on the review panel for Queensland Health's Spirometry Training Program.
With a diverse nursing career spanning over 30 years, I have gained experience in various fields, including sub-acute care, community health, rehabilitation, elderly care, general practice, chronic disease management, and respiratory care. I have a strong passion for chronic disease management, particularly in respiratory care, and I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead.
