I am a Certified Medical Scientist with extensive laboratory experience in diagnostic pathology with a passion for educating the next generation of Medical Scientists.
I obtained my Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Technology) from WAIT in 1980 and worked in predominantly branch laboratories in Western Australia, the Northern Territory and Queensland.
I obtained a Master of Public Health and Tropical Medicine from JCU and developed an interest in training students in diagnostic pathology. I was invited to join the University of Tasmania as a fixed-term lecturer in the School of Medicine and then I joined CQU as a sessional academic then part-time lecturer before 'retiring' from diagnostic pathology to join full-time as Head of Course for Medical Laboratory Science.
