About Me

Anne Braund has worked in Higher Education for 18 years, intially employed as an academic in CQUniversity's School of Business in 2000. In 2009 Anne moved to Hong Kong to work with English Schools Foundation and Hong Kong University developing and delivering English language curriculum for students from non-English speaking backgrounds. Anne returned to CQUniversity in 2016 to the School of Access Education working in academic communication support with students in the STEPS program through to Research Higher Degree students. Anne is currently the Head of Services (Academic Learning Centre) managing the academic support programs for academic communication, mathematics and statistics, science and computing across CQUniversity's undergraduate courses. Anne is also the project manager for the development and delivery of the micro-credential programs within the School of Access Education. 

Anne is a recipient of the Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Exemplary Practice in Learning and Teaching, and was awarded a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) for her personal and institutional commitment to professionalism in teaching and learning support in higher education. 

Anne is currently a PhD candidate researching the personal characteristics and institutional practices that support students from disadvantaged backgrounds to experience success at university.

General
Background

Outside of Anne's involvement within the Higher Education sector, Anne has worked as an educator in both schools and industry.  Anne has experience teaching in secondary schools in Queensland and overseas with a special interest in learning support for students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Alongside her academic role in the School of Business, Anne has worked as a consultant on industry engagement projects and team-building training in the region.
