Bridget Ferguson is a registered nurse and midwife, currently employed at Central Queensland University as a midwifery lecturer. Bridget has worked in various models of care across tertiary, regional and rural settings with Queensland Health Maternity Services. Bridget has also worked internationally as a nurse and midwife in the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, Bermuda, Papua New Guinea and across Australia including the Torres Straits, during her career.
Bridget has graduated with a Bachelor of Nursing, Post Graduate Diploma of Midwifery, Postgraduate Certificate in Midwifery, Master of Midwifery and a Master of Public Health. Bridget’s professional interests lie in midwifery care of women during their pregnancy, birth and postpartum periods via continuity models of care, supporting vulnerable women from diverse cultural backgrounds and undertaking midwifery focussed research. Bridget is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and is a member of the Australian College of Midwives.
