I am a Lecturer with Allied Health (Health Science) within the School of Health, Medical and Applied Sciences, based on the North Rockhampton campus.
I am a very proud graduate of CQUniversity. Following completing a Bachelor of Arts (Welfare Studies) and Bachelor of Business (HRM), I spent several years working in the area of service provision for people with disability in both government and non-government settings. I returned to CQUniversity to complete a Master of Arts (Research) and started work as a casual academic. In 2009, I was appointed as a Lecturer in the Social Work team and remained in this role until 2020. During this time, I completed a Doctor of Philosophy that explored the experiences of Disability Support Workers in supported accommodation. In 2020, I worked as the Research and Evaluation Coordinator with Access Recreation, a local non-government disability service provider. I returned to CQU to work as a Lecturer with the Allied Health (Health Science) team in 2023.
In my teaching framework, I aim to create an inspiring, challenging and unique learning environment that provides an authentic experience and encourages critical thinking.
