Narelle is an experienced Occupational Therapist who joined the teaching team at CQUniversity based in Rockhampton in 2013. Narelle has been involved in supporting and developing key curriculum areas of the Bachelor of Occupational Therapy program particularly in paediatrics and interprofessional learning.
Having lived and worked in the Capricornia region since 2004, Narelle is privileged to be involved with the establishment of the new allied health programs at CQUniversity. Narelle came to the region via her husband's role as a small school principal, but has stayed because of the relaxed lifestyle and professional opportunities. After living in Brisbane, Sydney and her hometown of Melbourne, the Capricorn region has been a wonderful place to live and bring up a family. Outside of work, Narelle participates in many meaningful occupations! Looking after her orchid and fern collection, growing fruit and vegetables, writing and playing music, reading for pleasure and connecting with friendsand family keeps her life full!

Narelle is an experienced occupational therapy clinician with specific interests in developmental paediatrics and occupational rehabilitation. Narelle has worked for many years in Queensland government services in both metropolitan and regional areas. Narelle has worked for health, education and statutory organisations, as well as in private practice. Narelle has always made time for clinical education of undergraduates and hopes to inspire new generations of occupational therapists towards excellence in learning and practice.

Member of Research group for Simulated Learning in Paediatric Allied Health (SLIPAH) in collaboration with other QLD universities and the team from Lady Cilento Children's Hospital, Brisbane.
In 2011, Narelle collaborated with other Queensland Health occupational therapists from around the state to produce 2 practical guides for paediatric occupational therapists. The Prioritisation Guidelines for Occupational Therapy practice in Child Development Services 2011 and companion document Guidelines for occupational therapy practice in child development services 2011, have been disseminated to OT's working in child development services and are currently awaiting publication on the Queensland Health website.
In 2012, Narelle co-authored the Queensland Health funded feasibility report An Interdisciplinary Allied Health Student Assisted Service for Child Development. Several business cases for implementation were developed in parallel with the feasibility report. Major changes to the delivery and organisation of state wide health services has delayed progression of the project.
