Julie has been a Clinical Academic at CQUniversity since 2017 and is based on the Brisbane campus.
Julie has a passion for sonographer education and mentoring the next generation of sonographers.
Julie qualified and graduated as radiographer from the University of Newcastle and upgrade her qualifications at the University of Sydney and became a Senior CT specialist before commencing training as a clinical sonographer in 1999. She has worked in a variety of hospital and private clinics in both NSW and QLD. She completed a Masters of Medical Ultrasound from CQUniversity. Her area of interest is Women's Imaging and clinical education.
She has been training and supervising students and other medical professionals since 2010.
She works closely with industry to support sonographer training and maintain open relationship between the university and clinical partners.
She continues to work casually within specialized obstetric and women's clinics.

Julie was a casual educator at the Australian Institute of Ultrasound on the Gold Coast, which involved training medical professionals in the use of FAST and EFAST protocols. (2015-2016)
Julie is an experienced medical senior sonographer with over 23 years experience. In the past she held accreditation with Nuchal Translucency, including nasal bone and uterine artery (pre eclampsia screening) accreditation.
Julie is an experienced clinical educator with over 10 years of supervising students and other medical professionals in their clinical practices. She commenced at CQUniversity in 2017.

Julie is responsible for developing and maintaining industry relationships, to foster a greater involvement between education providers and clinical partners and sonographers.
Julie teaches into sonography practical units in years 2 and 3 as well as co unit coordaining superficial scanning skills units on the Brisbane campus.
Julie overseas the final clinical unit for the CG91 Bachelor of Medical Sonography / Graduate Diploma of Medical Sonography course and ensures that the unit is u to date with current clinical practices to the best of her abilty and overseas the final OSCE examinations for graduating students to ensure they are at the Graduate Entry level required as stipulated by ASAR.
Julie oversees teh pastoral care of sonography students both on the Brisbane campus for years 2 and 3 ass as well as all other campuses across Australia in the final 4th year. She strives to help them manage them maintain a work/ study/ life balance and also the expectations of clinical sites whilst on placement.
