About Me
Carl Stubbs is a Lecturer in Physiotherapy and is unit co-ordinator for physiotherapy Management of the Complex Patient at CQUniversity. He also teaches into Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy, Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, and Research Project units. Carl brings over 20 years of combined clinical, teaching, and research experience to his role, having worked in public health services across the United Kingdom, New Zealand, and Australia.

Background
Carl is a registered physiotherapist with extensive experience in public health settings, working in senior and advanced extended scope practitioner roles within orthopaedic MSK and spinal services. His clinical background spans musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, Emergency Department, cardiorespiratory, persistent pain management and acute hospital care, and informs his strong focus on clinical reasoning, evidence-based practice, and the management of complex patients.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy (Honours) from York University (UK) and a Master of Science in Medicine (Pain Management) from the University of Sydney (Australia). Carl is currently undertaking a PhD at Monash University (Australia), where his research explores the role of psychological factors in clinical outcomes in tendinopathy. His work focuses on improving how psychological constructs are measured and applied in physiotherapy practice and research.
