About Me

Dr Bea Staley is a Senior Lecturer in First Nations Studies and affiliated with the Jawun Research Institute at Central Queensland University in Townsville. Dr Staley is also an adjunct Associate Professor (Inclusive Education) in the Faculty of Arts at Charles Darwin University. Dr Staley completed her PhD in Multicultural Equity Studies in Education at The Ohio State University.  Dr Staley has lived and worked in the United States, Kenya, the Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands and Australia. Dr Staley has a clinical background as a paediatric speech pathologist, and her work relates broadly to issues of equity and inclusion particularly in in remote and regional contexts. Bea has written academic articles in speech pathology and education, she has a published a co-edited book Speech Language Therapy as a Global Practice: Culture, Context and Collaboration with Routledge.
