About Me

Jessica Suna is the Director of the Office of Research at CQUniversity, where she leads strategic initiatives to support research activity and enhance capability, governance, and infrastructure. With more than 20 years of experience across the health and higher education sectors, Jessica has overseen large-scale clinical trials, supported national research platforms, and led digital transformation across research services. She is passionate about building high-performing teams, optimising research systems, and enabling collaborative, impactful research that delivers real-world outcomes.

General

Background

Jessica holds a strong track record in research leadership, with over two decades of experience spanning clinical research, research governance, and digital infrastructure. Prior to joining CQUniversity, she was Head of eResearch at Griffith University, where she led the strategic development of digital research infrastructure and research data services. She also held senior researcher roles in Queensland Health including Deputy Director of the Queensland Paediatric Cardiac Research Unit, managing multi-site clinical trials and overseeing national research registries focused on paediatric and cardiac care.

Jessica has served on Human Research Ethics Committees and contributed to national initiatives in research policy, data management, and implementation science. She holds qualifications in nursing, exercise science and data science, her research has focused on co-designed health information strategies in paediatric care.
